Vibe productivity (leverage your mood)

(+ exciting news!)

Productivity isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing. And trust me, I’m no expert. I just know what works for me (and even that changes often).

But one thing that’s bene working lately is what I’m calling vibe productivity (yes, a play on the trend of vibe coding, etc.).

If you’re like me and constantly juggling multiple passions, projects and jobs/tasks, then this might resonate with you too.

Vibe Productivity?

Vibe productivity is when you do creative work (tasks, projects, etc.) based on your mood.

It may not work for everyone and every situation (e.g. you have important client work due EOD). But it’s still a super powerful move for multi-passionates or anyone juggling many projects.

Context switching (or task switching) gets a bad rap. But if you have many things going on in your life of similar urgency, then this approach it can actually be pretty dang effective.

This is goal of vibe productivity — do the things you feel like doing when you feel like doing them.

This shifts focus away from discipline and towards leveraging your mood to get more done.

(*note: cultivating solid habits and discipline are still worthwhile and meaningful)

So vibe productivity is not anti-productivity — it’s anti toxic productivity.

Vibe productivity is perfect for passion projects and creative work. Since this type of stuff usually doesn’t depend on client expectations, deadlines or external pressures, you can afford to be a little loose.

Vibe productivity optimizes your creative work for play and fun. It’s getting back to how you made things when you were a kid — for the freaking joy of it.

Finishing your projects and consistently showing up are important creator habits. But so is following your intuition (i.e. the vibe).

It may take me longer to finish things and it may look a bit chaotic from the outside. But it works for me and it guarantees that I capture my creative energy in the moment and where it can do the most good. This feels more fulfilling (and effective).

After all, if my heart is pulling me to make music, then forcing myself to sit down and write a blog post (for some arbitrary weekly publishing schedule) is stupid.

So I say, follow your intuition.

Give into the vibe and be productive by leveraging your mood.

The Exciting News (I’m building a web app)

I’m building a tool for multi-passionate, creators, artists, etcetera.

It’s the multi-passionate’s OS. A creative project management tool for artists, musicians, creators, and indie hackers.

It’s called Stuudios. If you’re wondering why there are two “u”s, it’s because this platform is for multi-passionates and multi-creators…multi-artists! Put another, there’s more than one ‘you’.

A little cheeky and on the nose? Maybe…but it works (and the domain was available lol)

I’ll be launching the site in the coming weeks, starting with blog content and a collection of free creative tools (AI generators, timers, etc.).

As for the full app experience — I’m still building out the backend now, but here’s a sneak peek for what you can expect:

A main dashboard where you can see and manage all your creative projects (‘Studios’), your personal brand, etc.:

You can completely customize the menu items and the cards that appear in the visual layout:

Each Studio you create has its own customizable dashboard:

You can add different “blocks” to each studio menu/dashboard that you create…depending on what you need for that project:

If you have any feature requests for this Stuudios project of mine — let me know! You can reply to this newsletter or drop me an email here: [email protected]

So that’s my big news for this year so far!

I’ll also be heading out to Japan in May, so you can expect a mix of more travel content, YouTube videos, and blogs on multi-creator life, adventure, yada yada yada.

Until next time, later ✌️
