Nice to meet you (again)
It's been a while...
HELLO…

I’VE BEEN ABSENT…I started this newsletter a couple years ago without a real plan. I just listened to everyone telling me “you need to start a newsletter…now!” I stayed consistent with weekly letters for the first year(ish). Then I ran out of steam. I forgot the reason I was doing this at all…because I guess I had no reason at all. I started testing different ideas…different projects… But as my blog traffic continued to dwindle due to AI enhancements and internet restructuring, I lost further drive for this whole writing-my-life thing. I started soul searching… | ![]() |
IDENTITY
—CRISIS

Do you ever struggle with defining yourself—neatly?
You know, finding a single title to clearly describe who you are and what you consistently do…without doubt?
I’ve never settled on a single thing.
One week, it’s art. Then music. Then both.
Then blogging.
Or branding.
Or travel.
…and design…
Am I content creator? An artist? A musician? A blogger?
A general creative?
Multi-passionate!
…but like, what do I do with that?
Recurring identity crises always lead to inaction on my part (i.e., no new content and more unfinished creative projects).
When I don’t know who I am, I’m lost on what I should talk about or where I should focus my energy.
So I guess the solution is to stop trying to put myself in a box.
It’s not just multi-passionate or creative. It’s human.
I’m a people. An earthling. A human.
I think everybody is actually just a multi-layered lifestyle brand waiting to happen. Your life could be turned into a magazine.
Nobody is just one thing.
So that’s my new focus then…
Everything.
(lol it’s a little more dialed in than that, but—well, keep reading)
WHAT I’M DOING
+WHERE WE’RE GOING

My core blog and socials (jefquin) are getting a serous revamp. A digital spa day for my life ambassadors.
It’s all becoming more genuine.
And I’m not beating myself up anymore for testing new ideas or going a little rogue.
I used to hop around and constantly reoptimize and rebrand myself for different niches. Then, I’d start a whole new website and social account just for a single thing I was interested in.
The result?
Brand spaghetti.
And burnout.
And less clarity (not more).
So…I’m bringing everything back home.
Luckily, I’ve realized (in all my wandering) that I do have at least a handful or repeating themes and domains. So that’s where I’ll focus mainly:
Travel, creativity, carefreeness, life autonomy…
WHERE WE’RE GOING
In the past, I focused too much on search engine rules, ranking and writing safely to avoid upsetting strangers…
Lazy aesthetics and quiet creativity…a timid voice.
So let’s get loud!
Let’s get cringe.
Let’s get weird.
Let’s get out of limbo and curate an authentic, aesthetic, nomadic, artsy, offbeat life.
That’s where I’m going.
Applied lifestyle design.
This will feel like a styled mood board, art project, mixtape and journal all layered together.
How, you ask? Keep reading.
MORE QUALITY + SOCIAL
—LESS QUANTITY + SEO

I fell into a publish publish publish! mindset with blogging.
How could you not? It’s a volume game in a lot of ways (especially with AI).
And don’t get me wrong. I’m not anti-volume. It’s great for finding clarity and improving your craft. But for now, I want to slow down and create more impactful posts, content and projects.
Perfectly complimenting the post-luxury lifestyle that I resonate with so much.
That is, creating slow content and not caring about metrics…
I don’t want to share just for the sake of sharing and staying active for algorithms.
This means more quality posts, more social content documenting my multi-layered confusing life (vlog style; social blogs; lifestyle posts; art and music…all together).
I tried playing by the rules and following the formulas. They didn’t pan out like I thought and I got burned out.
Shouldn’t this be fun?
That’s my new metric.
I’m not against growth or optimizing, but I don’t care about it either.

A Final Note
For this newsletter…
I’ll continue sharing insights and stuff about nomadic life, creativity and being an artist, authenticity, and staying carefree…
So if that’s strikes a chord, stick around!
If not, no hard feelings.
