Life / brand updates
(what's in store for 2025)
Hello and happy new year! This will be a quick(ish) email to share some personal updates and what 2025 is going to look like from me (i.e., what you can expect from me).
Let’s start with my main website (where you probably subscribed through).
Website updates for this year (jefquin.com)
For content, I have lots of articles in the pipeline I’m stoked about, and I’ll be talking about pretty much the same type of topics — travel, creativity, lifestyle (you know the drill).
My blogging feels more like journaling — it’s cathartic and a way to process ideas.
So the biggest difference you’ll notice on my website this year is I’m adding ad placements.
Ads (as much as I don’t care for them) are a simple way to start making some more money from my creative efforts. This revenue will help support and finance my creative visions (more on those below!).
But don’t worry, I’m committed to never making the ads overcrowded or distracting from the content itself.
I’ll continue sharing blog content updates and letters on creativity, lifestyle, mindset and adventure. My theme remains — be punk about life.
But I’ll also probably start sharing more artwork, music releases and new YouTube videos with you here. :)
This year (and beyond), I’m focusing on two platforms: YouTube and Instagram.
(I randomly post musings on my X account, but I wouldn’t call this account “active”)
Here’s where you can follow me if you’re interested in my creative projects (beyond blogging, that is):
Creative projects in 2025 (beyond blogging)
I’ve had a very specific creative vision for over 5 years. But I never went for it.
I have been inching closer to it though — by finding clarity, building new skills and cultivating more creative confidence. So this year, I’m going for it. I’m all in. It’ll be my core focus for creative work and social content in 2025.
I’m blending music and art into creative projects, videos and work. Here’s the inspiration: what if art made music and music made art?
I’ll be doing larger canvas works (alongside sketches and mini projects). But each major artwork will have its own song attached to it, released on Spotify.
I’ll be adding more intention to my music and art (stories, themes…etc). I’ll be blending themes together between music and art and letting both assets bounce ideas off of each other.
For example, what paint stroke does a dissonant chord on my guitar create and what does the melody for an abstract art piece in blue and green sound like?
I have ideas for how these projects may unfold, but I don’t have the specifics — and that’s a good thing (too much planning leads to inaction and perfectionism). These projects will be shared on my art/music accounts (obviously).
Any lifestyle/travel-inspired (social) content will be on my other accounts.
And I know what you may be thinking — dude, this is turning into way too much…4 accounts, a blog and a newsletter?! What are you thinking, you fool!! (this is something I’ve gotten into trouble with before — creative focus lol).
BUT, I’m creating for simplicity and quality over quantity here. Everything is interconnected (for example, travel is a main theme in my art and music). And it’s all incredibly aligned with my personal values, lifestyle, passions, etc.
My blogging and this newsletter is more like cathartic journaling. And my core focus will start with just art/music projects (layering in extra stuff only when it makes sense).
Plus, I’m open to pivoting (for example, shifting focus to only YouTube if it’s performing better).
I’m making and blending art/music everyday and simply capturing the process. I’m not concerned with finishing full projects everyday, but rather making daily progress and sharing the journey with you.
This whole “capture the process” method is what I recommend if you’re interested in growing your own creative brand or social media:
Have a specific focus project
Chip away at it in small doses everyday
Share the journey

And that’s a wrap!
I’m completely stoked for 2025 — but I’m even more stoked that you’re here to ride the waves with me. Now let’s crush this year together and be as creative, carefree, punk and adventurous as we possibly can be.
So how about you — what’s your project this year?
Whatever it is, capture the journey, share it, and simply never stop.
Later ✌️
